K Kikruger | 6 years ago A good simple base from which to start. Added finely chopped mushrooms which I sautéed up front and removed, finely diced fennel and leeks next, sautéed and removed, then the butter and sausage. White wine in to deglaze then a little stock and returned the vegs to the pan with some thyme, marjoram and oregano. Salt and white peeps to taste plus a few pinches of Aleppo pepper. Tossed with homemade garganelli and the cheese. Nice.
D Daniel | 4 years ago I didn't have any olive oil, so I used butter. And I didn't have pasta, so I used spaghetti squash. We also didn't have any parmesan, so I used sawdust instead. And my store was out of sausage, so we subbed some leftover dog food. Delicious!
Sydne Newberry | 6 years ago This has been my go-to brownie recipe for 30 years, even after going to baking school! I agree that using the best cocoa possible makes a difference. These days, I use Callebaut. In the 80s, an acquaintence in Germany to whom I brought some of the brownies, and who considered herself a great cook, asked for the recipe but was never able to get it to work. She kept asking me what she was doing wrong and I was never able to solve her problem. Eventually, she moved to the US and stole my husband!
