I genuinely can't find a story on this looming supreme court chevron ruling that doesn't put the reader to sleep by the fourth paragraph or bury the lede in droll legalese the potential impact is utterly dire and I'm not seeing it effectively communicated to the public at all

I'd write it myself but the pitches wouldn't be picked up (regulatory policy impacting human lives just doesn't get them clicks). and if it was, I'd be paid $400 for a 2000 word deep dive that takes two weeks to research and write and would immediately be buried beneath stories about AI hype

anyway I'm gonna start a newsletter and social media channel that focuses exclusively on the perils of mindless deregulation and make like a ZILLION dollars

Slate has been covering it since it was a twinkle in John Roberts's robe, but their circulation is, um, not quite up there with NYT.

I know that John Oliver is the very definition of preaching to the choir but I think he could have followed up his Thomas episode with this topic after giving it passing mention last week.

I would be surprised if it’s not covered by the excellent podcasts Drilled and Damages - but I can’t say for sure because I only managed 6 seasons of Drilled before I quit listening for mental health reasons.
