the idea of taking the girl version of my dead name makes me cringe internally and while i have no issues with others doing it i always have to wonder how others can be fine with it

if it works for you, cool!! just keep in mind names are incredibly mutable, if you end up not liking something you can change it later. just try to keep yourself in mind rather than making it "easier" for your friends and family (it won't make it easier)

I did truthfully, I am personally happy with it. Though I also chose ‘Faye’ and use them both together.

I picked a completely different name and it rules and when people tell me they like my name I'm like "thanks I chose it myself". In fairness, I chose it myself while drunk and in incredible mental and emotional turmoil in no shape to make important decisions but it's a good name so it all worked out

going with a completely different name (which both *felt* good and also had personal significance to me) was one of the best decisions i made early transition… after, like, deciding to transition and take hrt

There is no direct feminine version of my deadname that I know of but the first initial is the same.
