It’s public domain because it can’t be copyrighted, as there’s no artist (ignoring all the stolen content, of course).
Yeah, I was thinking that wasn’t accurate for 500px. Photogs who use the site can choose to license, but it’s not the default.
I looked it up and it turns out it’s both, for different reasons. Autistic folks do it naturally and unconsciously. Sociopaths and psychopaths do it to manipulate others into seeing them as more likeable, though for some, they can do it so much that it becomes less deliberate.
Am I remembering correctly that this is a sign of psychopathy?
