I resonate with the enrollment note. If I recall correctly, my incoming meteorology class in 2002 at the University of Oklahoma was the peak (or perhaps it was the year prior) in their post-Twister enrollment numbers. My class had ~160 incoming freshmen (ended up graduating ~30). The fever was real!
