When it comes to the impact humans are having on our home, the news is rarely better than we thought. And much often, as in this case below, it is much worse. It’s also nearly always true that those causing the problem are not those suffering the brunt of the impacts.

A new study of Louisiana's 'Cancer Alley' finds levels of the carcinogen ethylene oxide that are 9 times higher than the EPA’s models.
“Undesirables” like the poor & POC are always expected to bear the brunt of the negative consequences of industry & extraction. As long as pollution affects “those people” then it isn’t a problem. Pipeline through a rich town? Can’t have that, divert it to tribal land instead. 😒
