The shortform monograph never really took off in history (when was the last time you read a Palgrave Pivot or whatever they are called now?). Maybe because they were only single weighted in REF?

I love this length — last book and next book are minigraphs — but neither of them are wholly scholarly research books (last book is a crossover popular nonfic, next book is a crossover student book). But also nobody cites my research monographs either haha

It’s a shame, it can be a really great format.
