Sometimes I will use pencil for sketching and colored pencil for coloring and line work. I use this method mostly for character designs

I usually sketch with pencils or fineliners, then add colors by water-based markers, somewhat like this. They are really loose and just for fun, for warm up, and putting down ideas

I used an orange colored pencil to roughly sketch the placement of objects, then the blue one for landscape, purple one for characters and details, then a little bit of green for some pop of colors

I was today years old that I realize how fun is it to sketch with colored pencils

For me, I usually go with 4 and 5. Mostly 5, and I don't really know why :))

4. Or you come up with both stories and design at the same time, and alter them both until you satisfied 5. Or that OC comes from plots, relationships of different OCs?

Quick question: How do you create a new OC? 1. You come up with a design, then create the backstory later 2. Or you think about the backstory, plots, then the design will come after 3. Or you create OC base on something you like. The media you consumed, stories and novels, musics or games...

Some ppl will be like: so what is your first OC in your world? Here me out :)) this is a really hard questions. I created 2 OCs back in 2020, but the world build was around 2021. Those 2 OCs still in that world, and don't really have much impact to other char stories. So...

But yeah I don't think I'm capable enough to build such characters and stories :)) Just my random thoughts

I want my OCs and world build to be like, no one is the main character or total villain. Everyone have their own story, and they will be the main char in their story. This OC can be a good char through one person, but can be a bad one through difference char
