There’s an article in the Sun but didn’t want to share from that source! I avoid rawhide but find frozen kongs are brilliant for saving my sanity when I want to eat in peace 😆

I’d recommend googling ‘rawhide safe dogs uk’ and you’ll get a list of websites with dog experts and vets stating the possible risks. For labs, who will be able to bite chunks off rawhide, there is a danger that they’ll swallow it- it’s indigestible and can swell and obstruct.

I have a bonkers Labrador, but have heard that raw hide can be dangerous to dogs 😬

…Ages’- I think a block of 2-3 lessons in secondary is expecting too much sitting still. A full hour is really too much for lots of kids. For younger children in ks1, I’d say an hour is ‘ages.’

Yes I understand that. My way of coming at it would be to look at the risks of reduced movement (ie no extra movement breaks) to natural child dev.+ wellbeing. (…)

Different angle: humans are not meant to sit still for hours on end, as habit. Children-even more relevant. May be valuable to consider the risks of sitting for ages alongside benefits of regular movement. Looking at child development and the role, purpose, importance of movement may be useful.

I think a big challenge for attendance is that the environment and overall experience is stressful and harmful to mental health to a lot of children and young people. The problem is very much IN school, not within the child.

I’m ok with that 😆( perhaps some of the fuming folk work from heated workplaces, which they drive to.)
