Re-establishing yourself in a new school with students is hard, ain’t it?

Yes, it’s really tough. I started HOD at new school 5 years ago and felt like an NQT again.

I hear that. Enjoying my new school, but behaviour much more challenging. Making progress, but it's a dogfight.

Y10 student: “Hey, Miss! Do you remember when you first started here, and we thought you were a supply teacher?” Me: “Yes. Yes I do.” Y10 student: “It was funny, wasn’t it.” Me: “That’s not quite how I remember it.”

Yes. Really hard.

Still easier than supply tho 😁

Very hard! Went through it recently. I think it’s one of those situations where you just have to weather the storm, knowing it will get better. And just remember it’s not you, it’s the same for everyone starting somewhere new 🙂
