Featuring homages to Watchmen (Moore/Gibbons), Shortcomings (Tomine), Jimmy Corrigan (Ware), Pretty Deadly (DeConnick/Rios/Bellaire/Cowles), Daytripper (Moon/Ba), My Favorite Thing is Monsters (Ferris), and Swallow Me Whole (Powell).
I love this assignment. The students get to make comics with whatever artistic skill they have, and they are almost universally just amazing. Obviously, some students will phone it in, but most students jump at the opportunity to create something.
