on that note, if anybody has ever felt like 'i would love to write to this creator, but i don't want to bother them, they probably get tons of this stuff', like...i can only speak for myself, but if i got *too much* fan mail, that would be a LOVELY problem to have haha

I found the contact info for a children’s book illustrator and emailed her to say I loved the normalization of multiple disabilities in her illustrations. She wrote back immediately and said the email made her day - which in turn made my day! It’s always a good thing to share genuine compliments.

(algorithm got me to this post) i will absolutely @ creators i like the works of that i like their work. i don't even expect a like in return, but it does make me feel good if my comment made them feel good .

My experience emailing authors has always been super positive and I’ve taken some out to dinner as a thank you.

whenever i really love a creator's work, I always try to send a letter/email. most don't respond but it's nice to return the joy their work brought me
