If there's any one lesson I take from anticolonial thinkers like Ngugi, Wynter, Fanon, Lorde, it is this: hold on to your imagination, cultivate it, refuse every effort to impede it, attempt to repair it when it is damaged, continue to use it even when it is damaged for this is how we stay, win
write the poems, make the songs, sow the seeds, crotchet the things, knit the things, paint the paintings, sew the sewing, craft the crafting, cook the meals, tend those who need tending let every act of imagination infuse life and possibility into the now, for the now and the afters
