Yeah, I'm similar. But I love finding a great location and then building it out. Sim Settlements 2 is worth a try too if you feel that way, since it allows you to just zone areas and let people build things there for you. Plus it has a voiced questline that's kinda fun.

I've heard SS2 is good yea, but not really advisable to drop in mid-game
