I think I'd mod it slightly where the second ship arrives and everyone is gone, but they don't know why but have no choice but to try and go planet side to get supplies as the generation ship is running out. Maybe even settle again, while trying to figure out what happened while nothing looks wrong
Old planet is dying, find new planet, first pioneer ship goes and starts settling, second arrives, big explosion of light, everyone from the 1st ship is gone. Turns out there's a dark god sealed on the planet that got unleashed , whoops!
I dunno where it came from but Iāve had Phantasy Star Online on the brain. I should see if I can get it running somehow. Might also channel it into an idea for a TTRPG plot..Starfinder might make a fun base game using the cliff notes of the pso1 plot!

Was kinda excited to try Remanent 2 since it was on sale for 50% off, but man the menus being "Mouse controlled with joystick" on controller really kinda killed it for me. I'll put up with that for maps but not normal menus!
