The basalt columns on Staffa island looking towards Fingalā€™s cave. Can you spot the person? They give a sense of scale to this amazing place. Well worth a visit if youā€™re ever up that way! #Hebrides#HighlandsAndIslands#FingalsCave#Scotland

A distant enormous cruise ship sits on the sea next to an island of hexagonal basalt pillars formed from lava flow

This is absolute madness. Carbon capture and storage has failed time and again. Labour has slashed reliable green programmes, to pour vast sums of our money into a complete crock. The only possible explanation is lobbying by fossil fuel companies.šŸ§µ www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Keir Starmer and other cabinet ministers have received tens of thousands of pounds in hospitality and gifts from betting firms and senior gambling industry figures, while Labour has received more than Ā£1m from casino bosses in the past two years. Gambling tycoons must think they've hit the jackpot.

Back from a few days at Labour conference. Very tired. Main takeaway: the dismay among so many - including Labour MPs - at Starmerā€™s failure to understand the importance of standards in public life (and the need to take money out of politics) ā€˜They just donā€™t get itā€™ was a recurring phrase

My 5 tests for when an argument expressing "legitimate concerns" does reflect legitimately contested issues about immigration & identity in a liberal democracy - and what crosses the line into illegitimate means, proposals or prejudices. www.britishfuture.org/understandin...

Shameless ethnonationalism/racism from Jenrick "A nation should put its own citizens first. But when half of all social housing in London is occupied by those born abroad, it's clear this isn't always happening." Vast majority *are* British citizens - but not "British" for Jenrick t.co/0ddk7nasHZ
