I stopped reading it sometime around the late 40s because the art after Capullo left had slipped so far (though I have since finished it). The series always felt like a vanity project for Gruenwald, but that last year especially seemed like it was just being published as a favor to him. 🤷‍♂️

I've read something about how it was his commentary of superheroes. The origin being retold densely, the introduction of a secret identity (quickly dropped) the costume changes. When it worked, it was great. but yeah, at a certain point it wasn't particularly good anymore.
