it's pretty telling how many well loved, well recognized science fiction and fantasy authors had absolutely no patience for the fandom. Moorcock and JG Ballard come to mind.

I legitimately cannot conceive of enjoying Fandom™️as a writer. I know some people do (even some writers I like) but god I could not do it
