Media in 1944: Some say we should not have reported on the Frank family living in that attic. But now, more than ever, freedom of the press is paramount.
I have to assume that it's the firing of actual editors on the orders of ownership combined with sweaty shouts of "content is king"? Back in the day you'd have stories shit-canned because they were just trash that served no informative purpose
Even when it results in the death of innocent people?!? Especially if it results in the death of innocent people.
Same media-culpa: "Regardless of what one thinks about our role in the Frank controversy, both sides in this war see a benefit to secrecy. The Allies, for example, have been hiding from the Germans their plans to land their invasion force at Normandy sometime between the fifth and seventh of June."
"In this time of tragedy, there will be those who say we should not have printed a list of '10 Best Locations for Watching the Motorcade from On High" under the map of the President's route, but the press can never shirk its duty to question power, even if it makes us uncomfortable.""In this time of tragedy, there will be those who say we should not have printed a list of '10 Best Locations for Watching the Motorcade from On High" under the map of the President's route, but the press can never shirk its duty to question power, even if it makes us uncomfortable."
Oh man.
Vultures. Just sick people
Modern day republicans would out them in a hot minute.
Loose lips sell papers
Freedom of the press is paramount and unfortunately not really allowed on the ground real press. That said, someone is doxing the jury to the point of them leaving. That should add more investigation and charges.
As a consumer of news, I do not want any details about these jurors. When I serve jury duty, everyone else in the pool is anonymous to me and this should be no different.
