Decency, unironic sincerity, humility, genuine family devotion, self-deprecation, being true to your own self, unashamed love — these things are incitements to the cult of Trumpism. They are a slap in the face to everyone who identifies themselves with the ethos of the strutting bully. /1

/2 Seeing a man express admiration of his wife’s abilities, a son genuinely proud of his father, a person at peace with their own genial and friendly personality — these simple things are a dagger to the heart of their furious inadequacy.
If I can forge a relationship with my children as deep as the ones the walz family has formed with theirs, i dont think id need anything else to feel satisfied it was a life well spent.

Yeah the campaign in general and especially with Walz there's a feeling of sincerity that I haven't felt previously. I mean, that's always a theme in politics but it feels different this time around. Maybe I'm a sucker for believing in it, but I think I'm ready for some earnest sincerity.
It feels like "what goes around comes around". Joy, tolerance, compassion for others replacing 9 years of mocking the disabled, bullying women and hatred for their own family members, friends and countrymen? Maybe it's finally time for Trump and the GOP to have to reap what they sow.
"Unironic" - Some day in the future, great things will be written about the MAGA right's use of irony - "Is he joking about the wall, the bleach, being a dictator?" and "I'm not really bigoted, I'm just saying these things to trigger the libs and to prove They Can't Stop Me, or am I?"
