Many people did not get this kind of father and they aren't as depraved as the people you are talking about...So it's a 'this PLUS something else...' I don't know where the something else comes from but maybe being very emotionally/intellectually empty so only money and domination seem to fill it.

I just took a peek over at Ex-Twitter, and as ugly as the tenor of that place is on a typical day, it's much worse today. This thread rings true. They are howling in torment.

It's why "I sleep in a big bed with my wife" goes so hard.

I couldn't help but think of some of these people that deep down these displays of emotion bother them because they know that they will never love someone enough to have them, nor be loved enough to elicit them.

Worse, actually, instead of envy it's genuine disdain for those things. It is a weakness for them, one they've long since stamped out, and the price for that is the ability to connect with other humans through emotions, price they often do not comprehend.

Tim Walz is the kind of dad I very much wish I'd had but did not. I have certainly envied people with great dads, but I can't think of any reason to hate on them.

I would, but I don’t sympathize. Bc one of the jobs of adults is to do the work needed to heal their dysfunction, to become self-aware and not externalization your own trauma onto others.
