/2 Of course, when you’re in front of the grand jury, your lawyer isn’t there — just the prosecutors and grand jurors. Not many people — particularly unsophisticated people — can hold up to the prosecutor telling them they aren’t allowed to take the Fifth and ordering them to answer.

/3 So many of them answered. My partner went to the supervising judge and got the testimony thrown out and had the prosecutor and the “grand jury supervisor” reprimanded — well, very mildly disagreed with.

I've seen someone testify to the grand jury with a lawyer advising them (Colorado). What circumstances might permit one to have a lawyer with them?
