For the past few months, the LA Times has been fighting for the release of videos showing deputies beating inmates in the LA jails. This week, we got them. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-11-10/unsealed-surveillance-videos-culture-of-violence-inside-l-a-county-jails
The trove of jail security footage was released after The Times and Witness LA asked a federal judge to make the videos public.
Thank you for this reporting. So necessary!
defund the police , you can't fix spoilt milk!
"The videos that have been unsealed represent six of the millions of interactions that occurred over a more than two and one-half year period" Why, lots of times the inmates and guards simply nod at each other! Why doesn't that get reported?
And they're terrible, aren't they. Don't care to watch them, myself.
Great rag! Keep up the great work 🍑🕳️
“Before turning over the videos, the county blurred the footage to conceal the identities of staff and inmates.” Abusive jail staff do not have a right to hide their identities.
