Phil wrote about the JADES brown dwarf work I've been doing on his newsletter today. What's really exciting about brown dwarf science for these objects out in the thick disk or even the halo is what they might be able to tell us about low-mass star formation at these distances.

These cool celestial objects are still mysterious in many ways, but we’re really starting to figure them out.

My paper also goes into detail into what is another very exciting opportunity - large area JWST surveys like COSMOS-Web will find a ton more brown dwarfs, and we've provided a roadmap to how to select them. I expect that the next few years will be revolutionary for brown dwarf science.
