Climate comm folks, thoughts on how to counter this new brainworm that the government controls the weather?
Their denialism went so far that it went all the way round. Now they finally believe humans can change the climate and weather. That's progress! 😄
I don't think you can. Conspiracy theorists will believe what they want to believe and no amount of facts will change that
My aunt brought it up the other night. It seemed effective to describe how much energy might be required to have such an impact. She kept insisting on knowing if it is possible — I said not today it isn’t. No idea if I convinced her but at least the conversation ended
I mean, who is picking it up? Is it people who are already deep in the racism hole? Are they part of the small percentage of people who deny climate change?

😑 I'd probably question the how??? more than the why??? would they do this. regardless of whether you believe the government shares your values, most people don't credit it with the competence to orchestrate a conspiracy on this scale
