Congrats to all the "moderate" Republicans who voted for Mike Johnson, a far-right election-denying religious zealot who celebrated the end of Roe and thinks "post-birth abortion" is an actual thing. I'm sure you won't regret this decision and all the polarizing votes he's about to bring your way.

I worry that with the war in the Middle East, these bonkers evangelical Christians think their chance of returning to Jerusalem is here. Or whatever completely bonkers thing right wing fundamentalists believe about Israel. Some of them are also probably packing for the rapture.

I'm sure those same "moderate" members won't regret the shutdown that is now almost guaranteed. I'm sure those purporting to be stalwart defenders of Ukraine won't regret Johnson's refusal to bring a Ukraine spending bill to the floor. So many things not to regret. Spineless idiots.
