They’re invoking a case that said the Constitution barred African Americans from being citizens to persuade a court with two African American justices and the sad thing is one of them will absolutely agree with them.
Doesn't Wong Kim Ark say the opposite?
gosh, i wonder which one
and he got his undergraduate education here in Worcester. I hate that.
They haven't actually filed suit, though, right?
“The Supreme Court has ruled that the 13th, 14th, 15th and 19th amendments are all unconstitutional because the Founders did not originally intend for a country where white men weren’t in charge of everything. Justice Alito has the majority opinion.”
This isn’t hyperbole. A friend who clerked for a SCOTUS justice 20+ years ago once told me, “Clarence Thomas doesn’t even believe that Clarence Thomas should be free.”
Also sad is my reaction to this was “There are two African Americans on the SC?” because I forgot Thomas is actually African American.
But I heard Jamaicans weren’t Black—and they certainly aren’t African American #RepublicansLie#CourtsAreCompromised
I have long said that Thomas's mic drop would be writing the opinion that overturns either Brown or Loving.
Following Thomas' logic he should be a vote for overturning Loving v. Virginia.
