A young Red-tailed Hawk giving me a look before going back to studying a small swampy pond, checking to see if there was anything tasty moving about. Check out those talons!
Check out the size of this Ruby-throated Hummingbird! Looking quite plump. These tiny and amazing birds can double their weight to help fuel their migration.
A female juvenile Cooper's Hawk (on the left) was cruising by when an adult male Cooper's Hawk suddenly flew in and attacked. It could be that the younger bird was in the older bird's air space. Note the size difference - female Cooper's Hawks can be up to a third larger than the males.
First post here :3. This is an OC, and just wanted to share that with you guys! Hope this reach somewhere<3.
This may be the first time I have taken a photo of a Great Blue Heron in flight and filled up the frame without cropping off a toe or a wing. Action shots are my favorite; the other day I took 7667 photos and kept 15. That's a 0.2% keeper rate. I am thankful for digital cameras!
