All the time. One standout was FF8. Made it to the last castle area and stopped. Then, ages later, a friend showed up quite late one night needing to hang out, so I fired up the game and played it while we did. Somehow, I managed to get over the bump I'd hit previously and finally beat the game.

Haha, re-read my last few posts and there were some errant words here and there. When I'm just dashing off something about cake or walks or whatever, I guess I just pay less attention to making sure everything is correct and coherent. I'd make an "either that or" joke here, but irony is merciless.

Pound cake cooling now. It seemed a bit thicker than usual in the batter stage, but everything was the measured the same. Guess we'll see how it turned out in a bit. But I keep thinking "maybe next time I'll change up the recipe some", and honestly, I think I kinda just like plain pound cake.

Hmm, it's a nice brisk morning. I think I'll grab something warm to wear, get a mcmuffin from McD's, and go for a walk in the nearby park before it gets crowded.

Did some more rework on "Can't You Fools Do Anything?!" my supervillain boardgame. There's a path-building element as you build your criminal empire that's a bit like Illuminati. Used to be you'd score paths traced from all 4 sides of your villain card, but that felt fiddly and annoying...

Tonight I got wonton soup and chicken with peapods from the little Vietnamese place down the road. They've been there 20-ish years, and I've been getting food from them as long as I've lived here. They're takeout only these days, which is fine, since I'm not eating indoors in restaurants still.

Anyway, I've been reworking an older boardgame design of mine lately. "Can't You Fools Do Anything?!" a game of Master plans and incompetent worker placement for 2-5 players. Going back to the bits where I shied away from my own design style to lean in instead. It wound up too serious originally.

I've said this a lot over on the xitter, but if you value a game/media IP/sports team/etc. more than the human lives attached to that thing, it's probably time for you to find a different hobby and/or go touch grass for a couple years, because you've gone completely off the rails.

Chuds got mad and sent death and rape threats to volunteers who helped maintain the Commander format for Magic because they got mad over a couple of card bannings in a largely casual format. Boy I sure do love large fandoms. They're filled with only the best of people.

Of the stuff that has gotten changed in development in my games, I regret very little of it, though there was a set of rules cut from Darkness Comes Rattling that made me very sad. Originally, if you died and became a spirit, you still played, but couldn't speak any more, only gesture & such...
