This so much. I don’t love hearing about the atrocities of the world in my fandom safe space—but left unchecked it gets bad alarmingly fast. Somehow My Little Pony nearly turned me alt-right as a teenager because “love and tolerance” turned into “don’t question my toxic ideologies”

That community did that to my younger cousin. He was such a sweet kid. Now he believes insane crap and beats on women who don’t reciprocate his advances.
