7. Bravely Default I bought it not expecting much, but I ended up falling in love with the characters and getting engrossed in the unraveling plot! The moment I got to the final boss, things got PERSONAL
Bend and snap
It's kinda wild a lot of the games I played then would be considered clunky by today's standards, but they honestly still hold up very well partly from the art direction/game design working with the limitations instead of against it. I'm so glad I got to play them on their intended platforms 😭😭😭
I'll do the rest later....so many games i love to choose from........
6. Katamari Damacy NAAAAAANANANANANANANANANANANANANAAAAA~~ It's colourful! Fun! Hilarious! Cute!! And the soundtrack SLAPS!!!!! (Taurus and Ursa Major can fuck off tho)
5. Tekken How me and my siblings settled disputes (which only led to more fighting). We had the most fun taking turns thru Story Mode for every character! If I had to choose, Tekken 5 was my absolute favourite and it set the tone for every entry since.
4. Pokemon Pokemon was also a big part of my childhood and I used to watch the original run, but it wasn't til I was 17 that I actually played a game. My first was Diamond, and I've since played almost all the mainline titles since then! Faves are DPPt, BW, and SwSh!
3. Digimon World Digimon was huge when we were kids and it was the first game I actively played. Being 8 when I started, I would play for hours without saving, shut it off, and happily start over again. This was also how I was taught about saving a game by my bro after countless "playthrus".......
2. Shadow of the Colossus I was introduced by watching my big brother play it and wanted to try it for myself. I was immediately smitten by every colossi design and even more drawn in by how alive yet empty the world was. Also, I love horses and Agro was the best videogame horse ever
1. Ōkami My favourite game of all time as a young artist & nature lover who loved reading up on folklore and mythology. I absolutely LOVED everything about it from art direction, gameplay, and story! I'd wipe my memory of it just to experience it all over again 😭
