I think splatoon is the most enjoyable when not taken seriously. I realized a long time ago that not caring about my rank and just playing for fun drastically improved my mood while playing. S3 really suffers from the fact that they put the rank and power system on 90% of the modes in the game.
And the last map i have to show: -Houzuki Mansion- One of Pearl's many mansions has been transformed into a battle stage, and battles take place on the roof. Weird map honestly, I don't even know how to describe it other than the fact that mid slightly resembles musselforge from s2.
-Furler Shores- It's located on a tropical island. Almost as vertical as flounder heights, also features inkrails and inkfurlers from singleplayer that enable a lot of movement options!
-Mega-M Dam- "Mega-M" is supposed to be the short of Megamouth (sharks). The first thing that can be seen are grates, and yeah there's a lot of them. Might seem like the map is extremely long range favoured, and it might be, but there'a also a lot of options to get on top of the grates!
-Driftwood Sawmill- I think naming these has been harder than making the actual layout lmao. Anyways, this one is inspired by a map from Paladins (mostly the middle of the map and the right drop out of spawn)
-Swordfish Castle- Another one of my favorites, and one of the first stages i made. It's located inside of an old castle that has been renovated and opened for tourists.
-Seawall Site- Located on a building consturction site. The stage features cranes that carry moving glass platforms that are similar to the one on Saltspray Rig. One of my favorites tbh
-Galathide Parking- The map is located in a basement parking garage. There are cars parked all over the map that can be used as cover or as high ground on the ones that are inkable. The name was partly inspired by Galatheid crabs.
I've been making stage layouts since like the beginning od this year. I wouldn't say i'm good at it or that these maps are well designed, but this is such a fun thing to do regardless. So yeah here is a thread of the 7 new maps i made:
