You might know already: @katharinehayhoe.com has some terrific practices for engaging w/conservative audiences & might have EV-specific ones! & I'd just add: if there's any way to learn beforehand (or even ask in the moment--though tough w/a big group) what *they* think & why, that will help a lot.
Maybe simply stating in public that you are the happy owner of 2 EVs is the most powerful testimony you can give.
