Issue #16 of Bone Parade is ready to read! These stories are too fabulous to summarize in 300 characters. Go read them and find out for yourself! www.boneparade.com#MagicalRealism#LitMag#GenreBending#Speculative#CrossGenre#WeirdFiction

Just saw on a non-paying lit mag's submission guidelines that they only respond to submissions they're accepting. What? Really? This is a thing? Tsk tsk. And they're only on their second issue. As someone in the lit mag trenches, I know the struggle, and that ain't right. Respect your submitters.

I was so into the #Nebulas2024 "Older Heroes and Protagonists" panel today. One of my favorite stories featuring an older protagonist is Leonora Carrington's The Hearing Trumpet. Do you have a favorite story featuring an older protagonist? Do any of your stories have an older protagonist?

Really enjoyed the #Nebulas2024 panels I attended today! I'm super happy to be attending the virtual conference this year. If you have a favorite panel that I need to make time for, please let me know!

Issue 14 features five fabulous stories: sound killing forests, the magic of new life, partnerships of stone and water, a charming Nordic fairy tale, and a banished human who dreams of becoming an AI. This issue is SO SO GOOD. Give it a read! www.boneparade.com

If you’re a New Year’s goals/ resolutions/fresh slate/ self improvement / planner person, I’d love to hear how you tackle that if you’ve found success and any shareable things you aim to work on next year.

My partner put his Advent calendar, with every window open, in the garbage last night, so Merry Christmas.

Congrats to all the folks who trudged through NaNo this year, whether you made it to 50k or not! If you made time for your writing, that's a win!

Another NaNo in the books. I wrote 50k of short stories again. My goal is to keep the habit going! I'm committed to writing 250 words a day. As a fiction editor and book coach, I struggle to find time for my own work. My favorite thing about NaNo is that it forces me to prioritize my own craft!
