One of my biggest pet peeves with modern gaming is that it feels like the second anything turns like at least 15-20 years old, gamers get scared and think it's bad and clunky and outdated and needs a remake or else it's unplayable. Like it's not that hard to play PS2 games guys

For PS1 or N64 era games, I find it understandable, since 3D movement and camera controls were in their infancy and plenty of games had struggling framerates But PS2 games hold up pretty damn well tbh, aside from small quirks like occasional camera inversion. I play a bunch of them on my steam deck

I think these pointless remakes need to stop unless it actually adds something of significant value.

I still go back to 007 Agent Under Fire, even if it feels clunky compared to modern shooters. Its one of the games I grew up with, and its just as good as I remember even with that clunkiness. Never be afraid to go back to the older eras of games, the quirks are part of the experience.

PS2 library is so vast too. There's something for everyone on that console; people just need to look around and do research. There's a reason it didn't get discontinued until Jan 2013...the same year the PS4 was on the horizon.

an understandable reaction to have to games that were 15-20 years old when the ps2 was the current playstation, but now? 15-20 years ago is when gaming hit its stride and almost everything is really great to play, with the only real clunk being load times.

Before Metaphor came out I jumped into SMT1 (1992) as my first Atlus game. What a real RPG, can't wait to jump into Nocturne later. I mean a remake would be cool I guess, but you can also just play it. General game availability is really the only issue here, otherwise old good game still = good game
