I had a gardening friend with huge willow trees, that gave a bonus of purple flowers from Lathraea clandestina

Only plant I ever got familiar with that did that (or something similar) was Ruscus aculeatus

Nature has other ideas!

Its a deciduous Euonymus in its autumn splendour. Possibly E. europaeus, or E. cornutus
