Putting my 2c in on this to just piggyback this amazing effort and suggest there should unironically be an awards ceremony each year for “best rulebook”. It’s truly both an art and a science and I think publicly praising good examples of rules design may make all rules better!

I like the idea of highlighting good rulebooks, but a main issue with rulebooks is the insularity of our hobby. Rulebooks lack the best practices from other genres of writing. I worry that we'd get more rulebooks like the Best Rulebook winner instead of finding models outside the board game hobby.
