I get that there was no political will at all to revisit the pandemic but I can't help but think some type of official commission issuing a report on everything that went down would make it harder for everyone to memoryhole just how badly Trump botched it.
The pandemic of course, but also, I reviewed a list of all Trump’s economic and environmental and labor deregulatory measures from when he was in office and it was nauseating and overwhelming. I’d forgotten so much!
It wouldn’t.
There needs to be investigations on the PPP loans program (as well as getting the obviously fraudulent loan money back) and Boy Blunder’s brilliant business brain idea of making states compete against each other for PPE
Real risk seems to be that we'll memory-hole more or less everything about it, save for that which is convenient for outrage-farming
remember when blue state governors had to sneak in supplies bc Trump and Jared were just seizing them for no real reason
The 9/11 Commission Report didn’t mean that anyone wanted another 9/11. It just meant that we had a framework for legislative and regulatory action, like updating building codes and emergency management. The GOP is somehow worse now, though, so of course it will be memory-holed.
Not just Trump though. We all shit the bed… with an abundance of caution.
Yes please. Jesus.
It’s felt like this election has been covered like he wasn’t already president. Even removing COVID, he was fucking dogshit at every part of the job.
