My brain immediately goes to Walter Benjamin's flaneur and the Arcades Project ... you'd have to be willing to be expansive in what a text is. But you could circle back to Woolf and Street Haunting, I think!

I will look into this, much appreciated! Have not read Benjamin in a long time. In my chapter I do discuss the anthropologist Keith Basso's *Wisdom Sits in Places*, about learning Apache place stories from the back of a pickup truck
