My Middlesex and Essex MA USA raised wife at least still maintains the tradition even if the home counties no longer do. I asked her question and without a pause she answered "sliver."

Shiny library was a great find as I finished my tech career ~7 years ago. But it was such a battle with IT folks (in an area not my specialty) of a large international IC company to make it work on servers across the company.

Yes, but this is a razor's edge thing. And too many white dentists in the Philly suburbs are still voting for Trump. Whatever a bunch of white dentists in Charleston West Virginia do, doesn't really matter.

My 1st generation Irish-American mother's life long quest was to bring the 6 degrees of separation down to 3.7.

So it seems my 1st gen Irish mother just had a standard-issue Irish thing. I had always thought it was some individual mission to bring the world down to 4 degrees of separation of all by herself.
