It's bothersome keeping up with your preferred hit zone in melee while the whole monster is flying everywhere, and yet hunting horn still has the reach to at least *hit* the monster most of the time. I can see how shorter reach weapons would be a huge pain.

In case you ever feel like trying it, I had a blast with insect glaive against the serpent elders. I may be a dirty floor-is-lava helicopter menace with IG, but it's incredibly fun to spend most of these hunts 30+ feet in the air.
