Do you want to read a paper that is long like a famine year (a Finnish expression) but perhaps you’ll like it? Topic: Nature intertwines rhythms, seasons, all sorts of events. My old modelling book sadly did not cover the flexibility of methods when it comes to modelling time. A thread:
There’s so much versatility to be gained if you add differential equations and the Gillespie algorithm to your toolbox. If you’ve always gone for discrete time steps because “that’s the way it has to be”, then it could be fun to learn that this can be an informed choice!
This calls for a new modelling book!
