Thank good for the butternuts! They also save me every year, though this year I sneaked a zucchini plant in among tomatoes and seem to have foiled the pests. All the others in a monoculture bed were destroyed by borers.

Interesting. I can't grow a zucchini to save my life anymore. I tucked mine in among the tomatoes where I have drip irrigation and got nothing. I don't know if it's a pollination issue.
