Just a little bit excited. This is scheduled for February 2025 publication! It includes my chapter ‘"Strangers at Home": Stalag Luft III’s Kriegies Return' and other cutting edge homecoming research. Publication is just after my birthday it counts as an Official Birthday Present!
David's been packing up books to go into the shop. We had to go out, but not to worry, Miss Millie is on guard, making sure no one steals them!
Thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon foraging at the bookfair, and I will enjoy dipping into these in due course.
I know I banged on about some writing awards. So much so that I was a bit sick & tired of it myself. But obviously I did not toot my trumpet loud enough because this week four people wrote to me out of the blue wanting my writing advice and labour, and not one ack'd my recent work let alone awards.
Sometimes, seeing happy, cheery, cherry sneakers, is the highlight of the writing day!
Started writing. Reads relatively coherently, which is a relief. Actually, the real relief is that I have started writing. It has taken ages to settle to it - too many distractions. Hoping today's 800 words will become at least 1000 tomorrow. Or at least something more than 800!

Well, three cheers for me. Submitted a co-authored article, heard a conference abstract has been accepted, and I had chocolate cake for morning tea. Its shaping up to be a good week.
