Front Range development is starting to spill onto the plains, threatening one of largest untouched expanses of prairie habitat.

The sudden, stark transition from the edge of the Rockies to the prairie really emphasizes the feeling of the prairie stretching out forever in front of you.

I took photos of everything on my last trip to New Mexico in 2022 except facing east onto the plains. Shows how much my research interest changed in the last couple of years.
