again pretty shameful from the “left” leaning party that single payer advocates where infamously locked out of the discussion entirely. the moonshot was nationwide heritage/romneycare.

also not really clear obama even wanted a public option let alone universal hcare.

thats what’s shameful. he couldn’t which is why these conservatives have to go.

also it perhaps even worse because constitutionally the senate only requires 51 votes to pass bills and the 60 obama had didn’t have 51 who where willing to do at least a public option is deeply shameful.

when there can only be 2 viable parties and the herculean lift from the “leftish” one is to pass a conservative plan (the moonshot to be whittled away by the other party) then we are in trouble.

build on what works and is popular! expand and improve medicare to cover everyone!

the aca is a fundamentally conservative market based plan that was cooked up by conservatives as an alternative to single payer. “better” than before sure but that is a low bar. still woefully inadequate.

in america if we are to believe the polling the general public is pretty far to the left of the democratic party on a wide set of issues and yet. these same people will tell you that if they run on and push for the popular good things they will lose votes so they then do the stuff their donors want

i used to ask these people all the time what is your red line like do you have any? and most of the time you get no response.
