AI is being used a lot of ways in polling. This article discusses chatbots (essentially, AI as interviewers) and AI-powered survey analytic methods. But I need journalists covering this to understand that if you're not interviewing people, it's not a poll. So stop calling Aaru a polling firm.
The speed in which election cycles move, coupled with a steep drop of people participating in regular phone or door-to-door polls, have caused pollsters to turn to artificial intelligence for insights, both asking the questions and sometimes answering them.

AAPOR folks: If anyone else is interested in organizing a panel for 2025 about survey modes and election polling, I'd love to participate. But while I organized 2 panels last year, I'm, uh, a little swamped right now.
Given how many surveys taken in a web browser are completed on a phone screen, we really need to start change what we today call "telephone" surveys to "voice-over-telephone" surveys

‘Driving while Black’: Researchers found that Black drivers make up 70% of police traffic stops on roads where only half the drivers are Black.
people (on here) yelled at me about this when i said it before but a) you need traffic enforcement and b) speed cameras are vastly preferable to cops.

The text is awful enough, but the subtext is that the police’s job is to inflict violence, which really gets to the central problem of Trumpism
Who showed Trump the film The Purge?
People don’t do this. Cross tabs have giant margins of error AND aren’t weighted within the crosstab. “The crosstabs look weird” just isn’t evidence on the accuracy of the toplines either way
