This is like getting sheepherding lessons from a wolf.

A timeline PSA on Twitter, stating “VOTE” with stars on the left side and stripes on the right. The following headline text states “Learn how to vote”, with a description “Find out how to register to vote in the United States elections.” The CTA button is labeled “Get started.”

Oh, you can barely see it on this one! I went and looked, this doesn’t even do a full notch cutout, it’s just enough to expose the button. Why hide it?

An Instagram ad for a Caudabe iPhone 16 case. It is very red. You can barely see its hole punch cutout, obscured by a Tasteful Graphic Design Gradient and how the cutout shows the inside of the case, which is also red.

I’m not sure why they’re not afraid to show off the absurd camera bump cutouts required for the non-Pro iPhone 16, but are petrified to show off the CAMERA CONTROL™ notch.

An Instagram ad for a Mous case. They are very carbon-fiber-y and have a little mountain logo behind the camera bump cutout. The non-Pro iPhone 16 camera bum cutout is pill shaped with a little nubbin so that the flash isn’t covered up. If I were Apple, I probably would have made the bump a little triangular to ensconce the flash so that this wouldn’t happen.

Oh yeah, and it’s cropped to avoid showing the CAMERA CONTROL™ cutout.

Pretty sure Instagram thinks I’m a weirdo who is *really into* iPhone 16 cases now.

This Instagram ad for Otterbox’s “Cactus Collection” depicts someone wearing a white gauze-y top and holding a bouquet of encased iPhones like they are walking down the aisle to get married. Not depicted? Their CAMERA CONTROL™ notches.

And Lo! The Algorithm provides another example!

Instagram ad for Nomad iPhone 16 cases, that depict a stack of three leather cases that is cropped to avoid depicting their CAMERA CONTROL™ notches.

Remember when Apple was so embarrassed by the camera bump on the iPhone 6 that all their product photography carefully avoided depicting it? Third party iPhone 16 case manufacturers with CAMERA CONTROL™ cutouts do!

An Instagram ad for Ridge-brand cases for iPhone 16. While there are some small pictures of cases that depict the cutout for the CAMERA CONTROL™, the main product photography shows a hand holding the phone and case perfectly to avoid depicting the cutout.
