1/Generative AI in schools makes me REALLY sad. Any chance of teaching students critical thinking, love for the humanities, love of reading and literature, etc. is now gone. AI is the ultimate laziness. Students are no longer taught how to *learn*. There's an art to finding the answers you need.

You are speaking to the choir here, but like so much else in education, those who make the decisions about what and how to teach are often impressed with the latest trend,& I keep on getting invitations about seminars showing me how to incorporate AI into teaching.I went to a couple and was appalled.

2/And it hallucinates and pollutes a large % of its output with bullshit and neither teachers or students will be able to separate it out, so things like history and science will suffer. I've hated common core for how much it set back learning. Generative AI is 100x worse.
