I once drove through the night from Springfield, MO toward Scott Air Force Base with an airman who thought he was on the flight to Illinois. As we taxied at DIA, I gave him the bad news. He called his wife to say "Wrong Springfield (IL)! Turn around!" I personally blame The Simpsons.
It's great for Bluesky to not have the antisemitism, death videos, and ads targeting 14-year-old boys that X is inundated with. But we do need more funny animal photos/videos/memes. To kick things off, here's my cat accepting a paper last week. On second thought, maybe we don't need more of that.
Congrats to Matteo Tranchero for winning the 2024 Organization Science Dissertation Competition finals and to runner-up Chelsea Lide. Summer Jackson, Ronnie Lee, and Basima Tewfik were brilliant organizers. See Summer's post below. Congrats to the great finalists too! str.aom.org/discussion/2...
I highly recommend this series, which never disappoints. You should come today. I flew all the way to Phoenix just so I could watch it at 8:30am. Britta is one of the top emerging scholars and her work addresses the crucial role of policy in entrepreneurship and economic opportunity.
Great virtual seminar series that has been running since the pandemic and it is now at its 52th speaker! We promise interesting papers by fantastic colleagues, insightful discussions, and an amazing community spanning many countries and institutions. Organized with Colleen, Carlos and Valentina👇🏻
It was great to see at the Strategic Management Society conference how so many journals are adopting more expansive views of what great papers might look like: deductive, inductive, abductive, descriptive, and more. This is important for advancing our fields and supporting our authors.
